Collecting data may be technically possible, but not every possible use is necessary, legitimate or beneficial. Data remains connected to the people, relationships and contexts it represents.

Core principle
Data is not a neutral resource detached from the people and context it concerns.
Personal data, children’s data, family privacy, learning records and community memory require a clear purpose, limited access and accountable retention.
Collect only the data you can justify—not everything you can capture.
A useful distinction
The language of extraction consumes; the language of amanah sets limits.

Data record
Every data flow should answer six questions.
For what purpose?Is the purpose clear, limited and understandable? Whose data?Are the rights of children, families, communities and institutions distinguished? With what permission?Are consent, legal basis and the way to withdraw visible? For how long?Are retention and automatic deletion periods defined? Who has access?Are human, service and model access recorded separately? Where does it go?Are third-party use, model training and cross-border transfer clear?
