BA Internet Policy · 02
Data is privacy and right.
Collecting data may be technically possible; But not every possible action is legitimate, necessary or beneficial. Data is a trust that cannot be separated from its owner and context.
Purpose · Minimum data · Permission · Duration · Deletion
Canonical principle
Data is not a neutral resource separated from its owner and context.
Personal data, child data, family privacy, education record and community memory; cannot be processed without express purpose, limited access and accountable storage conditions.
Not as much data as you can collect, but as much data as you can justify.
Basic distinction
It consumes the source language; The language of trust establishes boundaries.
Wrong location
Unlimited raw materials
- Collect first, find purpose later
- Keep indefinitely
- Move between contexts
- Participate in model training silently
BA Internet
Right and trust
- Explain the purpose from the beginning
- Process minimum data
- Limit time and access
- Grant the right to deletion and withdrawal
Data recording
Every data flow must answer these six questions.
For what purpose? Is the purpose of processing clear, limited and understandable? Whose data? Are child, family, community or institutional rights differentiated? With what permission? Are consent, legal basis and means of withdrawal visible? How long?Is the retention and automatic deletion period defined? Who is accessing? Are human, service and model access recorded separately? Where is it transferred? Are third-party, model training and cross-border transfer open?
BA Internet depths
The data frontier works with the human, model, and interface frontier.
