BA Internet · Media and representation

A content is not only about what it says; It is also represented by how it shows who it is and where it draws the attention of the addressee.

Text, visual, video, sound, game and synthetic production make people, knowledge, past and future visible. The BAI approach does not reduce content to an object of consumption and interaction; It carries the source, addressee, human rights, editing, age suitability, distribution limit and responsibility for correction.

Issue

Digital platforms measure visibility; Representation also takes into account invisible responsibilities.

The number of clicks, views, shares and followers does not indicate that a content is accurate, fair or useful. Title choice, framing, montage, music, game award, translation choice and artificially produced image affect what the interlocutor will see and how he will feel. The producer carries not only the file, but also the result of these selections.

Representation is not visibility; It is the responsibility of making people and words visible with trust.

Before producing or sharing content

Ask the same six representation questions.

  • What do we say and based on what source?Explain the information claim, the quote, the date and location of the image, the difference between fiction and documentation, and the part we don't know.
  • Who does it show? Whose rights do we bear?Observe the right to permission, privacy, dignity and reuse of faces, voices, works, private lives, children's, family and community memories.
  • Who is the addressee? What might he understand or misunderstand?Be aware that the same content cannot be presented to everyone in the same way, depending on age, language, knowledge level, accessibility, sensitivity and context.
  • What does the plot highlight or hide?Make visible how title, framing, cropping, sequencing, music, color, tempo, and game mechanics drive meaning.
  • What do we turn attention into?Does it foster curiosity and learning? Does it produce fear, anger, addiction, vanity or uninterrupted consumption?
  • How to fix, limit or remove it?Consider pre-publishing ways to report bugs, add sources, apologize, version, limit access, remove and stop redistribution.

Media and narrative families

As the format changes, the impact of the representation and the need for scrutiny also change.

These classes are not a complete catalogue. A single work can carry text, image, sound, game and synthetic production together.

01

Article, research and news

The source chain, citation, context, title, ambiguity and claim level are kept clear.

02

Visual, video and documentary

Framing, editing, date, place, personal permission, privacy and synthetic intervention are made visible.

03

Voice, speech and music

The permission of the voice owner, context, cutting, imitation, synthetic voice and reuse conditions are maintained.

04

Gaming, simulation and interaction

It's not just what the player sees; It examines which behavior is rewarded, which power relationship is normalized and how attention is held.

05

Translation and multilingual narration

Beyond word transfer, concepts, culture, address and local experience are preserved with native language carriers.

06

Synthetic and machine-assisted content

The part produced or modified by the machine, the human data used, and the final human editor are clearly declared.

From idea to publication

It is important to mature the content by knowing what and who it carries, as well as producing it quickly.

01Explain the purpose and addresseeWrite in one sentence what real need the content will serve, who it is for, and what you hope will change.
02Collect resources and rightsRe-arrange the information source, person and work permissions, privacy limits and data conditions of the tool to be used.
03Produce small draft and declareCreate the first example without hiding the editing, animation, translation or machine-generated part.04Examine with relevant and competent peopleGet feedback from the person represented, the native speaker, the master of the profession and the age group; Don't settle for the opinion of the production team alone.
05Set broadcast limit and maintenance ownerChoose private, limited, public or open access to the common good; Make visible who is responsible for bugs, updates, removals and reuse.

Children, young people and attention

Attracting the child's attention and capturing her attention are not the same thing.

The content produced for children and young people is not only in terms of prohibited items; It is evaluated by its impact on relationship, behavior, reward, privacy and development.

01

Age appropriate meaning

Pay attention not only to the simplicity of the language, but also to how the child will distinguish between fear, reality, fiction and advertising.

02

Attention limit

Taking over the child's time with endless flow, variable reward, pressure to return, and fear of loss.

03

Privacy and imitation

Collecting, duplicating, or introducing a child's face, voice, production, or behavioral data into model training without express household consent.

04

Human companionship

Don't take the machine character as a friend, confidant, teacher or religious authority; Strengthen the relationship between family, teacher and guide.

Representation boundary

Framing, editing, translation and machine production are not the truth itself; are the responsible choices of the manufacturer.

Both documentaries, plays and short videos involve selection and editing. A representation may be truthful, based on strong evidence, and beneficial to people; however, it does not exhaust the entire context. Explaining this boundary does not weaken the content, it makes it reliable.

Representation may share in truth; but it cannot consume the truth.

Publication and circulation decision

Not every content is opened to everyone, at all times and with the same permission.

01

Keep private

Content belonging to a household, child, person, institution or work team is protected if it does not need public visibility.

02

Share limited

Content that requires age, membership, education, profession, duration or personal permission will only be opened to the appropriate addressee.

03

Publicly broadcast

Open content with its source, representation statement, accessibility, error path and maintainer is published with certain terms of use.

04

Hungry for common good

If the rights, permission, privacy, quality, reuse and maintenance conditions are met, the content becomes a WAQF candidate; Not every public content automatically counts as WAQF.

Multilingual NATION representation

It is not enough to reproduce the same message in different languages; Languages and geographies must have a say in production.

01

Take root in your native language

Establish the concept, story, humor, rhetoric and local experience with people living in that language.

02

Be a guest in another language

Don't just order translation; Incorporate the questions, criticisms and different ways of seeing of another language circle into the production.

03

Verify translation with human

Machine translation can facilitate access; Leave the final representation decision of fiqh, historical, professional and sensitive concepts to competent people.

04

Create joint work

Young people, masters and narrators from different geographies are not only the target audience; Let there be producers who carry the source, fiction and result together.

Media and representation review

Would you like to examine a content idea in terms of source, addressee, human rights and publication boundaries?

Joint media and representation circles within the scope of BAI are still in the preparation phase. You can share the issue you want to produce, the language, age group, format and guidance you need. This call is not a promise of an active broadcast studio or program.
